Odlo, a leading name in technical textiles 

Founded in 1946 in Norway, Odlo is an essential player in the design of technical clothing and underwear for sports. Since its inception, the brand has demonstrated innovation and creativity in its clothing designs. 

Odd Roar Lofterød developed the first women's underwear in 1947. He then created trousers for his son to practice speed skating. It was a great success among other skaters and elite athletes. This marked the beginning of the brand's success. 

Subsequently, the brand decided to develop a technical and warm suit made from Helanca fibres. The success was such that the Norwegian Olympic team chose to wear this suit for the 1968 Winter Olympics. Four years later, all 22 national teams competed in the Sapporo Games wearing the same suit. A true success story begins! 

In 1973, Odlo launched its first range of sports underwear for men and women: Odlo Thermic. Many athletes equipped themselves with this range of technical clothing to practice their favourite sports. 

Odlo's headquarters moved to Switzerland in 1979 when Odlo Roar Junior took over the family business. He then decided to create a revolutionary new range of clothing, the Athletic Clothing System. This range highlights the principle of the three-layer system that we know today: a first layer that ensures excellent moisture transfer, a second that regulates temperature, and a third that protects against wind or bad weather. 

Over the years, Odlo has expanded into several sports: a running range and a more outdoor range (for hiking, cycling, or skiing). The brand aims to offer sports adventure enthusiasts a range of high-performance and technical clothing.
