At that time, Uwe and Stefan were trying to distribute a Spanish brand of climbing shoes in Germany, but they constantly had to drown their frustration over delivery delays and dissatisfied customers in litres of Rioja red wine. One of those evenings, sitting in Uwe's apartment, drinking and listening to music from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, they had the idea to create the brand Red Chili. They started writing the project, and when they woke up the next morning, the first thing they saw on that piece of paper soaked in red wine were two words: "Red Chili". They knew what they had to do. Since that day, Red Chili has been offering climbers of all levels climbing shoes tailored to their morphology and practice.
