The Peak Light 40 lives up to its name: its weight of 1,200 grams can indeed be reduced by 420 grams, as you can remove the lid, hip belt, some external attachment options, and the aluminum back structure.
The Peak Light 40 offers incredible versatility, as you can use it for high-altitude hikes when it is equipped with all its structures, or as an ultra-light climbing backpack (780 grams when you decide to lighten it) to tackle multi-pitch climbing routes. A featherweight alpine backpack thanks to its nylon material, the Peak Light 40 is also extremely robust and water-resistant, thanks to the polyurethane-coated nylon. Additionally, the new triangular construction of the top lid allows for different positions when the rope is attached.
