Evoc: From Austria to Hong Kong
Evoc was born out of an avalanche. In 1999, while the brand's inventors were in the midst of a snowboarding shoot, an avalanche caught the small group by surprise. Fortunately, no one was swept away by the snow slide, but Holger Feis, the product designer, was injured by the shovel in his bag during the fall. An accident that could have easily been avoided with protection on the back flank, the small team quickly deduced. From Austria to over fifty different countries in 20 years, the early Evoc team scoured the market's products without ever finding the rare gem that met their needs. The return from Tibet in 2000 was a crucial step in the brand's creation. They decided that the best way to meet their needs was to design their own products. Thus, Holger and his friends began sketching and prototyping to create the perfect equipment. After a successful first backpack with back protection, Evoc was born. Adventurers at heart, Evoc's explorers wanted to expand the brand into cycling to avoid limitations in their travels. This is how, in 2008, sales gradually took off with a first order from Mr. Lee, manager of a cycling shop in Hong Kong, followed by many others! Evoc means evolution and high-quality design, a phrase that endures and is still felt today in all their products.
